What a great turnout at the very first San Jose Bicycle Clinic “Coming Out Demo”! Setup at a parking lot next to the Diridon Caltrain Station from 12 to 4pm, the SJBC had volunteer bicycle mechanics, work stations and other volunteers available to anyone that came by to learn about working on thier bicycle. After signing a waiver you could hoist your bike onto a workstand and begin learning about working on your very own bike with guidance from experienced mechanics and volunteers. Well over 40 people came by to show their support. News got out about the Bicycle Clinic via their facebook page and word of mouth in the bicycling community. With help from the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition a few three mile “safety rides” also took place around downtown SJ to learn about riding in traffic as well as a few skill riding games in the parking lot. The next Bicycle Clinic should be happening very soon so give them some “likes” on the facebook page and stay informed!
